I did the Santa Cruz pier swim today, it's 1 mile. I was well under the 30 minute limit I set for myself. I did it in 27:34, so I droped about a minute and a half off last week's mile time. Which is really cool considering it was about 16 degrees colder than the race in the resevoir.
I'm training for the sentinel triathlon in october. This was the swim portion, so I feel pretty confident. I would like to do the swim in 25 minutes by october. Depending on my test swim next week, I will see if swimming it in a wetsuit would be faster for me. It takes me 27 seconds to get the
thing off, so if it doesn't improve my time by at least 30 seconds it's not worth it. My only problem with the triathlon is the run. Somehow by october 2 I have got to be able to run a 10k. I'm not worried about the bike, it's 25 miles, but that is doable. It's the damn running.
Mark and Michelle are doing a relay (Mark run and bike, Michelle swim) and Naomi is doing the whole thing as am I. So it's a household event. Now I've got to do an hour on the bike... but it's hot. Heat--
ok, i'll stop whining and pedalpedalpedal. or something.
